$9 Bak Chor Mee? You may be wondering how much worth can you get out of a $9 Bak Chor Mee.
Tai Wah Pork Noodles started out at Hong Lim Market and Food Centre. Its second outlet at Bedok Food Hub offers the same menu at $1 less than the flagship store!
The Signature Tai Wah Noodles, which is basically the $9 dish at Bedok outlet, comes with a generous portion of pork liver, minced meat as well as a bowl of soup containing wanton, meatballs, minced meat, and seaweed. The meatball’s texture was bouncy and juicy as they were completely soaked in the flavourful soup! The noodles were Q and topped with fried flatfish, which is something really unique about this dish.
Only grievance is the long wait so best to avoid peak periods if you are in a rush.
Location 📍: Bedok Food Hub
Nearest MRT 🚆: Bedok EWL

Hill Street Tai Hwa is a 1 Michelin star Bak Chor Mee stall at Crawford Lane, while High Street Tai Wah is a Michelin Bib Gourmand Bak Chor Mee at Hong Lim Food Centre.
On the 1st of October 2021, Hill Street Tai Hwa issued a statement to reiterate that they are “the one and only” 1 Michelin Starred Tai Hwa Pork Noodle, possibly in response to High Street Tai Hwa opening branches around Singapore.
Yummy! Producer Bruce ventures out to the main branches of both entities to share his take on the differences between the two sibling brands. Which one is better? Which one is the Bak Chor for Mee and you?
guess who we met by chance at Pek Kio today? The founder of my family’s favorite #bakchormee 𝐓𝐚𝐢 𝐖𝐚𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐍𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐥𝐞 @taiwah_pork_noodle : Tang Chai Chye (brother of the owner of ⭐️Tai Hwa Pork Noodle) and his son Gerald Tang. As we were walking to the main market, my husband spotted the Tangs – and a huge crowd – gathering at a kopitiam beneath Blk 46, only to realize that they just opened their 4th Farrer Park outlet in Singapore. The Tangs are now proud owners of 4 bcm stalls in Singapore – Hong Lim flagship, Bedok, Hougang and Farrer Park. It seems that a Toa Payoh outlet is also in the works in the not-too-distant future😉

Our Owen stall is open today! Thank you to all our supporters for coming down! We’re located at 46 Owen Road #01-267 Singapore 210046 ( Kim San Leng Coffeeshop). Our opening hours are from 7:30 am to 8:30pm. See you! ![]()

Okay first of all, there are people who are confused by this with the 1 Michelin starred Hill Street “Tai Hwa Pork Noodles” at Crawford Lane. This stall is High Street “Tai Wah Pork Noodle”, which’s main stall is located at Level 2 of Hong Lim Food Centre. So in short, it is spelt as “Tai WAH”, while the other is “Tai HWA”.
